I made a run to Best Buy and Circuit City tonight, just to take a look at the new Zune MP3 player from Microsnot. I am an avowed iPod devotee, but I wanted to see it and hear it.
Verdict: Looks half-baked. Like it was designed by a bunch of software engineers who were all thrown in a room and told "Quick! Design something! Apple is eating our breakfast, lunch and dinner! Don't come out until you're done!"
Well - even the most socially crippled software engineer needs to get out of the office once in a while. So, at some point, they collectively shrugged their shoulders and said "Good enough. Let's go play on our Playstations."
And now we have the Zune.
Steve Jobs is sleeping just fine this holiday season.
